Do you own a Jeep? If so, what model? Yes, a 1997 Jeep Wrangler.
What color is your Jeep? “Blazing Copper”! Some people call it orange, but it is iridescent in the sunshine.
Does your Jeep have a name? If yes, what’s it’s name? “Pretty Boy”
Is there a special meaning for the name? You’d have to see him in person to understand, he’s just “real purty”… almost too pretty to get too muddy!! (ALMOST)
Do Jeeps run in your family? Not really — my hubby and I had a Sahara back in our childless days, but nothing fancy — this one is the first really nice Jeep I’ve had!
Have you always loved Jeeps or did you discover them? Have always loved the really beefed-up Jeeps… and had always been intrigued by the whole community of Jeepers with the wave ‘n sense of adventure, it fits my personality.
The best part about being a Jeeper? The sense of community + adventure.
The hardest part about owning a JEEP is The planning – it’s kind of like when I ride my motorcycle… since I take the top/windows out in May and don’t zip it all back together till November, it’s not exactly “secure” when I’m riding into a big city, etc., and gets kinda breezy on the highway. But the extra time it takes to plan is worth it — it’s SO much fun to drive, plus I love it when I can drive it to places all dressed-up and hop out of this ruff-n-tumble kind of ride.
My dream JEEP would be… I really do have the one I’ve always wanted. He’s an older one in a pretty color but jacked-up and beefy with some solid tunes and everything manual – nothing automatic, more “purist”… I will never get rid of this Jeep, but someday I might wanna get another Jeep this isn’t as “pretty”, so I can beat-up on it a bit more and not worry so much about breaking things, haha!
I like to: – 4×4 (mud) – Rock crawl – Trail ride + Explore long, winding roads in the country or along our Lake Michigan shoreline – not about the speed! I haven’t tried rock crawling yet but I want to someday!
Any mods to your Jeep? If so, what? I’ve only had my Jeep one year — the guy I got it from added a few custom things and painted him the fancy color he is today — apparently he used to be a neon green? I like the blazing copper best!
What is your fondest Jeep memory? So far, taking my Jeep up to Silver Lake Dunes for the first time with our son!
Besides Jeeping, what other things do you enjoy? Everything outdoors, fun fitness and healthy food! I am a personal fitness trainer and founded an outdoor fitness company in 2006 EcoTrek Fitness that continues to grow — as well as my own nutrition bars EcoTrek Bars that sell in over 300 stores in 5 states! (Yay!)
